It uses a combination of patch chords and matrix switches to make connections. Each module’s panel has signal path lines that make it easy to identify how to patch things together. The ARP 2500 was also the synth used to communicate with the aliens in the movie Close Encounters Of The Third Kind and was used also by Elton John in the song Funeral.

The ARP Avatar is a much more flexible synth so you can get a lot more interesting sounds out of it. Great for techno, ambient, industrial, trance, rock or other kinds of music, this synth sounds incredible and blows away every other vintage analog synth.

The Omni is an analog synth with Orchestral String sounds. It has polyphonic Violin and Viola waveforms as well as monophonic Bass and Cello waveforms. It is split into 3 sections Strings, Synthesizer and Bass synth, all simultaneously available. The Omni has been used by Tangerine Dream, The Cars and New Order.

The ARP Axxe is a monophonic analog synthesizer, created by ARP in 1975. It is perfect for creating numerous bass voices, including acoustic, electric, funk and bowed bass, which are especially useful to the keyboardist who plays left hand bass. has been used by 808 state, Jude Allen, Adrian Chase, Rick Davis, and Eat Static.

Casio 1000p is a very old vintage analogue synthesizer featuring a nice warm sound with a deep low bottom. The Synth also includes an Arpeggiator. All in all, lovers of the very old analogues may like this one. The sound is best for organ and some strings.

The Quadra is pretty much a hybrid version of ARP's Omni II and Solus synths. It's a four-section synthesizer consisting of a Bass synth, Poly synth, Lead synth, and String synth. It is quite good at emulating each of these sounds. It has been used by Pink Floyd, New order and film-maker John Carpenter.

Alesis Ion is an analog modeling synthesizer, released in 2002. It is great mostly for pop, rock and electronic music. The analog modeling on this synth is very realistic, and the sounds you can get from this are far and wide in terms of getting different sounding tones. It has been used by Klaus Schulze, Pedro the Lion and Tiny Tide.

In the 80's Akai's early products included the AX80 8-voice analog synthesizer, and the Akai AX-60 and AX-73 6-voice analog synthesizers. They have useful noise generator and some other cool functions. They have been used by by Mark Bell (LFO) on Bjork's Homogenic.

In 1995, Alesis gave the Quadrasynth an upgrade the first of these were QS6 & QS7 synths. They are a powerful multitimbral synthesizers from the effects-box geniuses at Alesis. Really amazing pianos, orchestral sounds as well as vintage synth sounds, strings, brass, winds, guitars, drums, percussion loops and groove patterns can all be found here.
